So the mystery of how the New Yorker/ABC got my music has been solved. A third party organization -whose methods I was not fully aware of (my own fault) when I signed on with them- licensed my music to the New Yorker and didn't require them to credit me.. sucks for me, but hey I got a little exposure out of the deal!
UPDATE: The New Yorker has given me full credit for my song, both at their own website and their youtube page!

Hi Jennifer,
I first heard your music on the "Elevator" video from the New Yorker, and thanks to that I got to listen to this wonderful pianist you are. Congratulations! Your work is simply beautiful!
Best of luck to you!
Erika
Hey, I loved your song "The Storm Begins"! I heard it from the elevator video too. You have a lot of other cool music on your site too. I'm going to try and learn this one.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, I just "discovered" you randomly from that old, old, elevator video! lol As a classical and sacred pianist, I am charmed by your original compositions and arrangements. Plus, I love that you sell the sheet music of all your songs.
Keep playing--you're awesome! ;-)
